About Dyna-Gro Foliage-Pro Hydroponic Nutrients

Dyna-Gro Foliage-Pro is a hydroponic nutrient regimen geared towards the vegetative phase of the plant’s growth cycle. Foliage-Pro is high in nitrogen, promoting excellent leaf and stem growth.

It can be used for all plants in the vegetative stage but works especially well when used to grow hydroponic leafy greens like lettuce. Since leafy greens don’t need to go through the flowering or fruiting stages, Foliage-Pro is the only nutrient you will need to grow your leafy greens.

It’s a one-part nutrient solution so there’s is no need to mix with other nutrients.

How To Use Dyna-Gro Foliage-Pro

Since Dyna-Gro Foliage-Pro a 1 part nutrient solution, there’s no need for measuring or mixing different nutrients together.

Making your hydroponic nutrient solution is easy. For recirculating hydroponic systems add 2-3 tsp per gallon of water. For non-circulating systems 1 tsp per gallon.

After adding your nutrients you’ll need to measure and adjust the pH of your nutrient solution.

If you’re growing leafy vegetables, then this is the only nutrient you will need to use from seedling through to the harvest. If you’re growing something that will flower/fruit, then you will eventually need to switch to Dyna-Gro “Grow” or “Bloom”.

In What Quantities Does Dyna-Gro Foliage-Pro Come In?

Dyna-Gro Foliage-Pro is sold in a variety of quantities:

Cost

Foilage Pro is a cheaper initial start-up cost compared to a multi-part hydroponic nutrient solution. With Dyna-Gro you will only need to purchase 1 product and it’s pretty affordable.

Conclusion

While using a one-part nutrient solution takes away your ability to customize your nutrient regimen, you can’t beat the simplicity and minimal investment. I definitely recommend this nutrient regimen, especially for beginners.

Don’t let the ease of use fool you, in my experience, Foliage-Pro works great for vegetative growth, especially in leafy greens and herbs. Hi Michael. Thank you for all the great tips here. From the answer you gave Shirley’s question right above me. I just want to know why not jump right in with bloom instead of grow first and then bloom? Thank you sir.

Thanks for the question Vuken! You should to start with grow nutrients to let the plant establish some foliage growth, then switch to a growth/bloom mix for flowering and maintaining some growth then full bloom when you want the plant to finish out. Hope this helps!
